Writer's Block and Deviating From My Outline - NaNoWriMo Week 1

Image
ACCESSING FILE...  PROJECT TITLE: CAPTIVATED CURRENT WORD COUNT: 9,026 WORDS        So. How have we gotten here to day seven? I don't know, but I am already feeling the "not wanting to write" and "wanting to do anything but work on my novel". The month started out with a really good 2,000 some words on the first day. And then Chapter Two hit. Writer's Block hit real quick after that.      This is a screenshot of my outline. By about... the second square I deviated from my plans. I'm not going to put a screenshot of the next bit because SPOILERS . But the problem is worse later on. I'm also supposed at 11,000 some words by the end of today. I'm either going to need to sprint hard or I'm going to be pretty behind.     I need to go try and be productive. Stay Awesome! <3

NaNoWriMo Announcement/Story Synopsis

Hello! I haven't posted in a while. Why whenever I say "Stay tuned!" in a post I go into a huge hiatus? Anyhow, I have a huge project coming up that I'd like to talk about a bit... National Novel Writing Month. Or NaNoWriMo, as it is more commonly called. I've attempted to do NaNo three years in a row, and this year is the year that a finish it! NaNo is starting in a little over a week as I am writing this, which means I am in a scramble to finish all of my preparations. I still need to solidify some character arcs and finish world-building for the country. But, I won't be getting into that right now. But I will get into some basic details of my novel. My novel is called Captivated. It's a YA "competition" book as I like to call it. Other competition books are The Hunger Games and The Selection. Both of which are fabulous trilogies*. Captivated is pretty similar in pitch to The Selection. A bunch of kids get chosen to go be a part of a competiti...

How I Go About Making Comics

Image
Hey, I hope your all doing fantastic. I'm Ritatastic! And this is a bit of a new thing that I'm trying out. For some reason, I think you guys care about my creative processes (please let me know if you don't; writing these articles takes forever). Therefore, I am going to start doing these little tutorial... type.. actual... blog posts.     Back on track! What is this about, you may ask. Well, you saw the title. How I go about making comics! This will be divided into two parts: Strips and Full Pages. Because how I go about making those two types is totally different!     A bit of back ground before I get in, though. Even though the main types of comics I post are strips, I actually make full page comics a lot more. Despite this I have a more concrete method of making comic strips, so that section will be more informative. This method is subject to change, this is just how I do it now. Also, I won't be talking about my specific digital art process....

Finale - Undertale Fanart

Image
I'm really proud of this drawing! This post is gonna have a little more text than usual, so if you haven't played Undertale and want to avoid spoilers, this is you spoiler warning. So, as you can probably tell, I love Undertale to bits. I've 100% completed the game once (Neutral and then True Pacifist) and am currently working through my second playthrough. This art work, if you can't tell, takes place during the Photoshop Flowey battle when all the souls rebel and are helping you. I put some fire in the foreground because Flowey shoots fire during the battle and I thought it made the drawing look more interesting. Since this drawing looked so good, I wanted to make lightning strike two more times. My plan was to draw a piece similar to this one but with Asriel breaking the barrier and then one with Chara and all the souls broken and the "9999999" in the background. I drew the first one and it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to. So I have yet to do...

It's been a while

Oh hello. I haven't posted in *looks at a calendar* FOUR MONTHS. That's a long time. Why has it been that long? REASON #1: Lack of Resources I did a stupid thing back in May. I had a Pokémon Emerald ROM on my school Chromebook, right? I had to turn in my Chromebook and decided I would download the ROM on my home computer from the same website. I got on the website, found my ROM, and clicked download. I broke the computer by downloading malware. REASON #2: My Chromebook is Stupid So. You probably remember a year ago when I would upload straight from school on my Chromebook. WELL NOW BLOGGER DOESN'T WORK SO- So. What have we learned here? Don't use a ROM site that worked on a Chromebook, because Chromebooks are immune to malware. And always have a back up device. Pokémon: Delta Emerald will be returning sometime in the next week and Sisters comics will be as well. If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask! Stay Awesome! <3

Quick Update on Comic

Hey! I still am planning on putting out the comic today! I might go up later than I'd like, though. I still need to finish the secondary sketch, inking, coloring, and lettering for page two. Just wanted to keep y' all posted. Stay Awesome! <3

Ummm... I've been gone for a while...

Hi everybody. I've been gone for a very long time. Like, seven months maybe? I SWEAR I'VE BEEN MAKING STUFF! The problem is, I can't upload any of it. Okay, okay, okay. I know what you all are thinking. Rita! Have you been making inappropriate artwork?! Gosh no. I made a comic, some pokemon fanart, and I'm working on a pokemon book starring moi! Also, about my upload schedule. I will *obviously* not be uploading daily. I'm thinking, once the current technical errors are fixed, I will upload just my artwork every Monday and Friday and the Pokemon comic on either Wednesdays or Saturdays. Let me know which one you guys would prefer. Thank you all for understanding why I haven't posted. Stay awesome! <3

Sorry!

Ah! I am so sorry I didn't post yesterday! I'll post twice today to compensate. Stay Awesome! <3
